Microsoft Word and my games are gone from My Programs list- how do I get them back? - microsoft games solitaire

Words and my games are from my programs and desktop icons do not work disappeared. I can still access and use of Word as a rule "My Documents", so I know it somewhere. How do I find (and my games, solitaire, etc.) in my system and restore my programs? I have a CD that was, if I my computer, I have a new installation, and if so, how can newly purchased without losing data?
